April 17, 2025: Takashia Welch
My name is Takashia “TK” Welch. I’m a retired US Army officer of 27 years and a mother of one son. I was raised in Beaufort South Carolina prior to joining the military and traveling the world.
In December 2020, I retired from the military in Woodbridge VA. Earlier that year, I started Gardening in four 4*4 raised beds in an urban area. That started my love affair with mother earth. I grew in Virginia for a little over 2 years before I relocated to Grovetown, Ga to be close to family and live out my dream of gardening and a more rural area. My property in Georgia was a little over 1 acre and I grew in 44 raised beds. During my time in Georgia, I was able to
Attend UGA extension Master Gardening training and honed my gardening skills and my appreciation for my ancestors.
Roughly one year after I arrived in Georgia, I was called to do something bigger with more land and more for my community. In April 2024, I purchased my raw land and started building my Farm, M2 Legacy Harvest. Over the last year, I’ve dedicated several hours a day working on my dream of doing what I love full-time.
